Interesting.....

Saipan is the capital island of a 14-island chain in the Pacific Ocean known as the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (the CNMI)-- a uniquely self-governed paradise which includes Tinian and Rota (all on the US dollar and postal system) about a 150 miles from Guam . Like any land under a flag, Saipan has its share of challenges. However, it still remains one of the Pacific's best kept secrets as a place to vacation, retire or escape. Here are some noteworthy facts and observations that may be of interest:

  • Saipan is on the US Postal System, which means if you're visiting from the US Mainland, you can send letters and packages from here to your friends in the states for the same rates you pay now.

  • Although no one has confirmed it officially, there is evidence and folklore to suggest that Saipan figures prominently in the Emelia Earhart disappearance.

  • Saipan, in the deepest waters on the planet (the Marianas Trench is here!) has world-class diving like no other place on earth!

  • Saipan has been ruled by the Spanish, the Germans, the Japanese, and now the Americans!

  • Saipan holds the Guiness World Record for most consistent temperature. The average difference between night and day is greater than the average difference between winter and summer.

  • The "cold war" started in Tinian, Saipan's sister island! That's where the atomic bombs dropped on Japan were launched!

"I am very impressed. I never thought of early retiring there until seeing this website. I am interested in finding out more.

    Hello, Walt!
I've just ordered two of your books. You've done a wonderful job achieving freedom. I'm a doctor, and I've been contacted by CHC in Saipan to join their staff. I'm seriously considering it. I'm also a direct marketer, one-on-one student of Dan Kennedy and fan of Mark Joyner, Joe Vitale, and many others you may know (I'm guessing from your marketing style).

I hope to get to Saipan at least to check out the sweet life, and hopefully to move there with my family!

    All the best,

    Marc Silverberg, M.D.

    hi Angelo,
I started following your blog over a year ago when I was applying for the JET program. I found your Saipan Blog on BigDaikon.com. Your home is beautiful! You look like you are having a kick ass time! Thanks for sharing Saipan with all your readers. I would have never known how breathtaking it is. Your adventures make me want to go home to my native Vietnam and help out. Maybe, after Japan. I admire your passion for life.
